About So Handy
So Handy is a handicraft museum dedicated to the artistry and innovation of sewing machines from around 1876 through to the 1970s. Our collection showcases beautifully preserved machines, repaired models, and examples the changing design of home and industrial sewing.
Visitors are free to browse during opening hours.  Whether you’re a history lover, a textile enthusiast, or simply curious, So Handy offers a nostalgic journey into the tools that helped stitch generations together.

Open to the Public

Come and see the machines on display, between 9.30am - 1pm Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. From 18th August 2026, opening hours will be 9.30am - 1pm Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.

Antique Machine Sales

All of these beautiful vintage machines have been repaired in-house and many of them are now ready for their forever homes.
